Research Interests

My research explores how grid cell coding is affected by very early Alzheimer’s Disease pathology. And if changes in grid cell coding during path integration tasks can be used as a biomarker for Alzheimer’s Disease pathology. To do so I use functional imaging, immersive VR technology and computational modelling.

In addition, I am interested in developing a virtual reality path integration task that can be used as a diagnostic tool in a clinical setting.

Lastly, I am also interested in understanding how aging affects precision of spatial memories and the encoding strategies that are employed during spatial memory tasks.
